Nena's story

Nena L. is from the village of Pigsag-an, Cagayan De Oro City. She is 57 years old, widowed and has three grown children. Nena has owned and operated a retail shop, specializing in green bananas and daily essentials, for over 15 years. As her main source of income, the business generates approximately 2,500 PHP a month.

In 2008, Nena joined HSPFI to access their financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Nena has successfully repaid a previous HSPFI loan in the amount of 11,000 PHP. Nena is requesting 14000 PHP, as her fourth HSPFI loan, which she will use to purchase additional products to sell. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement her family's income.
