A loan helped to buy a new sewing machine and sewing materials for her sewing services, thereby making it more effective for her family.

Noor Meena's story

Noor Meena is a 32-year-old married woman living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan, with her better half. She is the mother of three children. Her husband works in a factory with a low salary. He cannot bear his household expenses, so Noor Meena wants to financially help her husband through stitching cloth at home.

She stitches clothes beautifully, and this is the reason the ladies of her hometown like her stitching. Because of continuous stitching, her sewing machine has become out of order, and her sewing materials have finished as well. So, she wants to buy a new sewing machine and sewing materials, i.e. needles, spools, threads, etc., thereby making it more effective for her family and earning more income.

Therefore, Noor Meena has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so she can buy a new sewing machine and sewing materials to become well established, to cherish her children more, and to be able to provide better facilities to her family.

She thanks Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
