A loan helped to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to repair her home's toilet facilities.

Tâm's story

Tâm is 52 years old and she is married with two children. She is an ethnic minority living in Cam Thuy district, a mountainous region of Thanh Hoa province, very far from the province center. She speaks ethnic minority languages and rarely leaves the village, so she has no opportunity to access financial services.

She has worked in agriculture, farming food for more than ten years. Her family is a low-income household in village, and the region where she lives often suffers natural disasters, such as floods and drought.

One of the most critical difficulties that concerns her is not having money to repair the toilet facilities in her home. But her income is not enough to get a new one. She is therefore requesting a loan to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to make repairs to the toilet facilities in her home.

This is Tâm's first loan with Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution. Tâm hopes to maintain a successful business, for her business to do well, and for her family to be healthy and happy.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean drinking water and improved sanitation facilities.
