Mary's story

Mary is sixty years old. She is a widow and has four children who are all out of school. She lives with her children in a rented apartment in a town called Wiawso in the Western Region of Ghana. Wiawso is a commercial and farming town.

Mary is a trader who trades in vegetables such as peppers. She sells vegetables at the local market and supplies them to retailers and food vendors in her community. She also treks to other markets to sell vegetables. She buys her goods from nearby towns.

Mary has been in business for ten years and wants a loan to buy vegetables in bulk to expand her business.
