A loan of $950 helped increase stock.

Arthur's story

Arthur is a father of three who owns a small shop in a residential area of Kisumu. Arthur has been in this business for the past nine years, selling sodas, sugar, cooking oil, rice, eggs, and other staples. Previously, Arthur worked a variety of small jobs that enabled him to save enough money to start his business. Although Arthur faces several business challenges, including price fluctuations and security, he has already successfully repaid six loans to SMEP. He has just requested a new loan of KES 70,000 in order to increase the stock of foodstuffs in his shop. Arthur describes himself as friendly, humble, practical, and faithful.
