A loan of $700 helped purchase fertilizers.

Kiko's story

Kiko is a very hard working 25 year-old single man who lives with his mother. He has worked in agriculture since he was a child and he enjoys working on his crops. He is very careful and patient with each crop as it is the only way to harvest clean products, without worms, that will not spoil when they are in storage. He sells his harvest at a warehouse in the city to buyers from the coast, and he obtains good prices for his potatoes, based on the size and seed variety. He shares his earnings with his parents and siblings and it makes him very happy. He is thinking of buying his own land in the near future, so that his younger siblings can also work in his parents’ small subsistence farm.

This is his eight loan with MFP and he is very appreciative since each loan has been a great help. He has been very punctual to his community bank’s meetings. The funds that he is requesting will be used to purchase chemical fertilizers for his next potato crop.
