A loan helped to increase his working capital so that he can increase his transaction volumes and generate more revenue to reinvest into the business towards his expansion.

Vincent's story

Vincent is a 26-year-old man from Lusaka, Zambia. He and his younger sister were raised by his mother, a single parent, and that came with many financial difficulties. Vincent could not further his studies but was inspired by his mother to become an entrepreneur. Vincent wants to improve the standard of living for his family whilst impacting the local economy, and therefore he has become a mobile transactions business as a Zoona entrepreneur.

Vincent assists his community with sending and receiving money, without the high banking costs. He says having his Zoona outlet makes it easier for the people as they can now access the service quicker and it saves them time and money as they no longer need to travel to the nearest bank.

Vincent hopes to become the top performing of all Zoona agents and he wants to expand his business in order to create jobs for the unemployed people in his community. Vincent has a younger sister who is still in school; one day he wants to be her source of inspiration.

Vincent is requesting a Kiva loan to inject into his business as working capital. As he increases his transaction volumes, he will also generate more revenue, which he will reinvest back into the business to facilitate the expansion. Vincent thanks Kiva in advance for all the support.
