A loan of $325 helped to buy materials to set up a hairdressers.

Gloria Janeth's story

Gloria, 21, single, lives with her parents and two younger siblings in the district of Santa Rosa, 25 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. Her parents have earnt a living working in activities associated with fishing, which is the main economic activity of the area. Due to the difficult situation of fishermen at the moment, she decided to earn her living in another way and went to study for a career as a cosmetic technician for a year and a half in Chiclayo. She finished her studies last year.

Until a few months ago, the institution where she was studying provided her with temporary support, offering her materials to develop her profession (mirrors, scissors and tweezers) and she later started to work visiting clients who requested her services. However, now that her parents have bought their own house and have offered her a small space inside to set up her own enterprise, she would like to buy materials that she will need for her future hairdresser business. For this reason, she is requesting a first loan of 900 new soles from Edpyme Alternativa.

Gloria is a young woman who wants to excel and studied English thanks to a grant award by her institute. She now also works giving classes to reinforce secondary education among students in her area. Her dream is to be able to study Company Management and Gloria has made up her mind to work tirelessly to achieve this. Once the building is finished, she will provide photos of the area inside the house destined for her future business.
