Joel's story

Joel A.'s main source of income comes from buying and selling scrap materials in his community. He is 38 years old, married and has three school-age children. They are from the village of Santiago, Iligan city. Joel has been engaged in this business for over 10 years and earns approximately 2,500 PHP a month.

In 2009, Joel joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living conditions and enable him to engage in business activities. Joel is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP which will be used to purchase new items to expand product offerings. This will be his first loan from HSPFI. He plans to use the additional revenue to improve and expand his business.
