A loan of $700 helped to buy more stock of smoked and dried fish.

Mercy's story

Mercy started her fish business three years ago in the community market where she lives. She prepares and serves her customers very tasty fish in the market and, for that reason, she is one among the many. She buys stocks of fish from Yeji in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. Many people buy from her in the market place.

Mercy is 36 years old, married and a mother with six children. Five of her children are currently in school and her last child is breastfeeding. She supports her children from her business proceeds with the help of her husband. She depends on this income for their food, school bills and, sometimes, medical bills. She has requested this loan to buy more assorted fish to increase her sales and income, to support her children's education and business growth. She hopes to repay the loan on time.
