Melita's story

Melita is 37 years old, a single mother and lives with her three children in her own house. She is a woman with many objectives, because of this she makes an effort every day in her work selling second hand clothes. She offers these clothes to her friends and neighbours for cash and credit. She also travels to other villages in the region to exchange her articles of clothing for edible products (plantains, cassava, corn, beans, fish, chicken and other items) which she resells on her return. She has been involved in this activity for two years and it is going very well for her. Additionally, at night she works in a small guesthouse as a receptionist. Melita likes to be active and work for the wellbeing of her children, who she wants to give everything they need to progress in the future.
This is her ninth loan with MFP. What she likes about working with her community bank is that all the members understand each other and are responsible and supportive. With the money that she is now applying for she will buy a greater quantity of clothes to increase her sales and in so doing, her earnings.
