Reyna's story

Reyna is a very hardworking and entrepreneurial woman. She is 39 years old and is divorced from her husband. She is the mother of 4 adult children who are all independent from her and all help her out.

Her business is making and selling juanes (rice wrapped in leaves). She sells her product at a bus company. She also sells clothing items with the help of one of her daughters, who sells them for her. She has been a member of the “Las Heroínas” communal bank for 9 years. She started with a loan of 300.00 PEN, which she invested in ingredients for the food she sells.

This loan is for 1,800.00 PEN. She plans to invest it in merchandise such as sheets, towels, blankets, and some clothing items. Reyna’s goal is to have a well-run restaurant.
