Agona Swedru, Ghana / Restaurant

A loan of $700 helped to buy cooking ingredients.

Joyce's story

Joyce started a local restaurant ten years ago and since then she has become one of the most popular food vendors in her neighborhood. She is now forty years-old. She serves many kinds of local dishes such as fufu, rice balls, and banku. Fufu is prepared from pounded cassava and plantain and eaten with soup. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and eaten with hot pepper or soup.

Joyce would like to use this loan to buy more raw materials such as bags of maize, baskets of cassava, plantains, meat, fish, and firewood. She hopes to use part of the proceeds to expand her business. She would be grateful for assistance.
