A loan helped a member to buy fish to resell.

Fatou's Group's story

The banc villageois, which this group of three women is a part of, was inaugurated in May 2001. The group members work primarily in commerce, selling various goods.

Fatou, who is on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 70 years old, married, and is the mother of six children, of whom two are daughters.

Fatou has worked selling fish for many years. With her new loan, she plans to buy a large quantity of fish, which she will resell in the local market.

Profits will serve to help her husband with the daily expenses and their children's school and health costs. She will also increase her savings.

In this group: Fatou, Sounkarou, Anna
