Esmeralda Ii Group's story

The Communal Bank “Esmeralda II” is starting its 14th loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Alto Lima Community Center. This group consists of nine members and is led by a Board of Directors in which Sra. Balbina is the president.

This loan will benefit small business owners such as Sra. Balbina. She currently has a business of selling clothes. Balbina became familiar with this business after learning the trade on her own several years ago.

The loan she is receiving now will increase her capital for buying clothing in bulk. She acquires her merchandise from wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz and then sells it from her retail space. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Balbina is married and has two children.
