A loan of $1,050 helped buy sacks of fresh fish.

Soledad's story

Soledad belongs to the Las Dinámicas II Communal Bank in the Tarapoto District, San Martín Province, San Martín Department. She is 53 and in a common law marriage. She has four children who are now independent.

Several years ago she started selling fresh fish in order to help her family with income. She started with 500 PEN, which was very well invested. Now she continues in the same business, but in larger quantities and varieties of fish. She travels to different regions to sell her product. Her customers now know her and are very satisfied with her product.

With this loan for 3,000 she will buy sacks of fresh regional fish as well as fish from the coast of the country. She will buy fish like bocachico, palometas, toa, gamitada, tilapias, toyo, and pejerey to keep her business stocked and to satisfy the taste of her discerning customers.

She is pleased to have belonged for so many years to a group of women who have helped her overcome difficulties, which she now confronts with more strength.
