A loan of $3,600 helped a member operating capital.

Alegria Group's story

The group “Alegría” (Joy) is led by Sra. Hilda and consists of 18 dynamic members who wish to participate in activities that will bring them closer as a group. The women of the group have been friends for a long time and know each other through their business activities and because they live in the same neighborhood. Most of the members have various retail and service businesses such as beauty salons, grocery stores, food establishments, and cosmetic sales. We can mention that one member is a mechanic, while another one provides cleaning services. Most of the members have their own locations while others travel door-to-door. It should be mentioned that the members are experienced and know how to cope in a competitive environment.

This loan will be used to buy merchandise to stock their stores, acquire supplies at wholesale, and obtain discounted cosmetics through promotional offers so that the members can take advantage of lower costs. Their expectations for the future are to have larger stores so that they can generate more revenues and be more financially independent. Regarding their previous credit experience, they have worked with solidarity group loans at other financial institutions. They are participating in their first loan cycle with Fundación Agrocapital and have high expectations to continue growing.
