A loan of $400 helped purchase basic grains, meat, dairy products, and other merchandise.

Ana Isabel's story

Sra. Ana Isabel P. is 43 years old and lives in the neighborhood of Juan Ramón Padilla. She helps her husband with the household expenses. They have two children, ages 12 and 8, who are students. The plans for her family include improving their living conditions and expanding their house.

One year ago, Doña Ana started a small grocery store where she offers a variety of products in order to attract customers. She started her business with her own capital. Soon thereafter, she was able to help her husband with the expenses and learned how to become an independent woman. She also has the support of her mother.

In the future, she plans to build a separate location for her grocery store. She currently operates her business out of the living room of her house, so her family no longer has privacy and comfortable conditions. She will use her loan to buy different products to restock her business such as basic grains, dairy products, meat, cleaning products and other necessities used by Nicaraguan families. She thanks AFODENIC for providing this loan so that she can invest in her business and achieve better sales and revenues so that she can improve her store.
