Karen Gissela's story

Karen is 31 years old, she is single and lives at her parents' home in the canton of Montecristi, which is nationally and internationally known for its rich precolonial heritage and for its handicrafts.

She is a young, hard-working woman that likes earning a living and being able to support her parents, who live with limited resources. Karen has an ice cream shop at home where she sells delicious ice cream cones of many flavors. She sells a well-known national ice cream brand that her customers love, and they visit her shop daily to cool down with one of her ice creams. She has owned this business for 4 years already, and she has been able to improve it significantly every time she has received a loan.

Karen will use this loan to buy ice creams and cones, as well as some chairs that she needs in order to offer a better service to her customers. Her dream is to continue improving her ice cream shop.
