A loan of $250 helped purchase of fertilizers.

Edubeges's story

Edubeges is 35 years old. She is a very loving mother of 4 children and lives happily married in her own home. After her morning household chores, she goes at 8 a.m. to her small citrus farm, where she grows oranges, mandarins and limes. She keeps her orchard painstakingly clean, and above all fumigated, so that her fruit will not be damaged by insects and can be sold at a good price. Buyers come directly to her orchard, and she sells them a hundred pieces of fruit for 3 or 4 Peruvian soles. However, in the months of January and February, fruit is in great demand in the city of Lima, so she can take advantage of this situation and sell her products at up to 10 soles per hundred. For this reason, she has recently fertilized her trees to prepare for a harvest in the [Southern] summer season, which will bring higher profits and help her cover her family's needs. In addition, while she is waiting for the harvest, she and her husband work as laborers on other farms, so that their children do not suffer from economic hardships.

This is Edubeges' first loan with MFP, and she is prepared to make all of her payments on schedule, since she does not want to cause problems for the other members who have guaranteed them. She will invest the funds she is requesting to purchase chemical fertilizers for her harvest in the month of January.
