A loan helped a member to purchase natural fertilizer and seeds for her farm.

Ham Group's story

Ham, 52, is a married mother of only one child who resides in a village in the Kandal province of Cambodia. Since 1980, she grows rice and vegetable to make profits to support the family’s living, while her husband is a chef in the restaurant. Both of them typically make around 20USD per day.

Ham appears first on the right, representing her group of six members. As the group leader, she would like to use her loan share to purchase natural fertilizer and seeds for her farm. She sees that this investment will allow her to increase her production as well as her family's profits.

With the profits from this season’s harvest, she is going to purchase two more hectares of farmland and build a new house.
