A loan of $700 helped expanding merchandise inventory.

Teresa's story

Teresa is 50 years old and lives with her husband Emilian, who works as a vegetable seller, along with their children Kenji, age 18; Carol, age 11; and Jahir, age 2; in the family's own home. For the past nine years, Teresa has sold beauty products by catalog. She offers her merchandise to her neighbors, family members and friends who live nearby. Teresa is very patient with her clients, and she is an excellent consultant, since she is very knowledgeable about the various seasonal colors as well as the most appropriate colors for different skin tones. Because of this, she always receives a good number of orders. She enjoys her work very much, especially because she can organize it so that she works at times that are convenient for her, since she also has to take care of her home and her children, who are still young. The hardest part, Teresa tells us, is when she has to go out and collect money from some of her clients who are late with their payments, but she realizes that this is the price of her position. She faces it all with a positive attitude and puts forth extra effort, since she knows that if she wants to get ahead, she has to work very hard in her business. This is her fourth loan with MFP, and she has always been very punctual with all of her payments. With the funds she is requesting, she will buy a large inventory of beauty products so that she can keep them in stock, thus achieving higher sales by delivering the products immediately, rather than waiting to place catalog orders.
