Tautala's story

Tautala H. (0) is a 35-year-old woman living in the town of Puipaa. She is married and has five school-aged children.

Tautala owns and operates a fishing business, harvesting and selling ocean-caught fish in the local community. She has been engaged in this business for over four years and earns approximately 420 WST a month.

In 2006, Tautala joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 750 WST from SPBD. This previous loan was used to purchase fishing equipment including hooks and nets.

Tautala is now requesting a new loan of 1,000 WST which will be used to purchase a fishing boat. The loan will be her 2nd from SPBD. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.
