A loan helped to purchase more stock.

Sabina Anyango's story

Sabina is a single lady who owns an open-air shop where she sells second-hand clothes. She has been running her business for the past 11 years, and makes a profit of approximately 5,500 KES a month. Sabina had previously received a loan from Sunlink, another MFI in Kenya. She was later introduced to Kiva partner, KADET, by a member.

Sabina's business is at the side of the road in the Buruburu area, enabling her to attract customers who are just passing by as well as neighbors. She wants to use her loan to buy more stock. With the excess profits, she hopes to buy a stand to use as a temporary shop and, eventually, to get a more permanent location.

The Kenya Agency for the Development of Enterprise and Technology (KADET) is committed to economically empowering its clients by providing financial services in order to relieve suffering and improve living conditions in communities across Kenya.
