Group Of Love

A loan of $300 helped a member for expenditure on a used and new rice machine.

Group Of Love's story

Group of Love consists of five borrowers led by Yarkpawolo Z. who live in Borkeza Town, which is near Zorzor, Lofa County, Liberia. Yarkpawolo is 27 years old and married with three kids, ages two to nine. He has recently returned to high school part time to complete his degree after dropping out during the war.

Yarkpawolo runs a rice production business, using a machine to ready the rice for storage and consumption. He has been running his business for five years. Yarkpawolo is an innovator, one of the few people in Lofa County with a machine like this, so he is much sought after during the dry season.

Yarkpawolo will use his loan to purchase fuel and make improvements to his machine to keep it running longer and be more profitable. He then plans to invest in a bigger machine to meet demand and make sure his three kids can complete school.
