Hipolita's story

Hipolita is 49 years old; a dedicated and loving mother, who lives in her own home with her two sons, Jonathan, 18 and Yunior, 14, for both of whom she hopes for a good life. Her stall is locatged in the Ananea (Puno Department) district at an altitude of more than 4600 meters above sea level. She sells clothing to the inhabitants of the area and the very cold climate of this area makes her business quite successful since the folks here gravitate towards her warm clothing. She loves selling and has been in sales for 20 years. She feels that the hardest thing about the work is standing the cold weather in Ananea. But, despite this, she knows that she has to continue working hard if she is to reach her goals. This is her 6th loan with MFP and she always saves money to pay her installments because she wants to be in good standing with the communal bank where she is one of the most responsible and cheerful members. With the 3000 new soles loan she will buy more clothing to sell because the great distance of her location makes bringing large quantities of inventory attractive to keep her costs down.
