Kamba

A loan of $450 helped buy various items.

Kamba's story

Kamba B., a single mother of two children, lives in Sanankoroba, a town located 20km from Bamako (the capital of Mali). She lives in a traditional family along with her brothers, sisters and lots of other relatives.

For social reasons, she quit her high school studies (at the secondary schooling level of Mali’s education system) to run a small business selling a variety of items.

Looking to supplement her financial resources, she turned to Soro Yiriwaso’s credit program two years ago.

She is on her second individual loan after having repaid the first.

She stocks up once a month in Bamako and, with this loan, she plans to buy five dozen bottles of perfume, two dozen sets of sheets and a sufficient quantity of various women’s items, which she sells on foot. She hopes to make a monthly profit of 60,000 XOF.

These profits will help her to cover her expenses and make her loan repayments.
