A loan helped an established music production company with a strong mission to support education and arts, while creating jobs in the community to help prevent crime and keep our youth off the streets through music.

Lawrence's story

The love of music and the love of people is what inspired the birth of Street Savie Entertainment. Myself and three colleagues developed a new concept of how to bring back Great Music from the early 90's (that real hip hop). Our goal was to promote peace in the streets because at that time there was a tremendous amount of senseless killings and drugs were really at large. We set out for change to create opportunities to live longer better lives for ourselves, our families and our communities rather than becoming victims of the society of what the neighborhoods had to offer.

At this point in my career I have enough experience and education where I am able to influence mass groups in the community through my skill, talent and vision of music. As I can recall enjoying timeless classics with my grandparents on a record player, that harmony and joy is something that has remained a part of my fiber for life. Even through the loss of them the loving legacy of music has remained in my heart and gotten me through some of my own personal challenges. It is what keeps me going it is my passion which is real in my heart because it's real out there in the streets. I have been able to produce concerts and shows that have had a 400ppl count minimum that includes the youth community. It is my dream to have an annual youth symposium and music scholarship program through the City of Oakland.

This loan is special because:
