Hean's Group's story

Aged 50 years, Hean is living in a local village in Prey Veng province. She is a mother of four dependent children, one of whom is still in school and other one is too young for school. She can earn income to support her family’s living via rice cropping and selling coffee to supplement income. Having been with her businesses for 22 years, it has enabled her to save from her daily income about 5 US dollars per day for future needs.

Because of flooding, her rice did not grow well in this year, it is her main challenge. Hean has been with VisionFund for five loan cycles, including this one, with a successful repayment of her past loans that enabled her to improve her lifestyle better than before. She leads a big group consisting of five members, and she is the group leader. For Hean, she will use her loan portion to purchase more fertilizer and will spend some on plowing fees in order to support her rice farmland to grow well.

She hopes that she can gain good crop yield, better than before with good income, so she can support her child’s studying on time.
