A loan of $800 helped to purchase corn for selling tortillas.

Juana Alicia's story

Juana studied until the sixth grade of primary school. She is a single mother and one of her daughters emigrated abroad in search of better opportunities. Her other daughter is a high school student and lives with her.

Juana has made a living from making and selling tortillas for many years. Additionally, she works in an ice cream parlor.

She was previously supported by 3 loans from Kiva. She has already finished paying two and the most recent she is paying punctually. She needs a new loan to purchase corn for selling tortillas.

She dreams of improving her life by means of her jobs and it will also be possible thanks to the loans.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Sarah Tyler
