Ana By Karma's story

ANA by Karma’s Story:

Weavers in Bhutan are talented in the art of weaving intricate designs for important ceremonial dressing. However, their designs have less commercial use or value outside Bhutan. Bhutan being a small kingdom of 700,000 provides limited income opportunities for the weavers due to which the heritage form of weaving is slowly dying.

Quin (image 1,on the left), on her visit to Bhutan met with one such weaver. What was supposed to be a one-off help to set up a home business for one woman with 8 handmade scarves, today blossomed to become ANA by Karma, a social enterprise with 70+ women, selling 10,000+ scarves. The women not only have a stable income stream but also feel proud and confident. Learn more about ANA by Karma in this video.
