A loan helped us have a stable grand opening of our brick and mortar coffee shop. We would apply the funds to inventory, pay suppliers for products and services, supplement cash flow, and service equipment.

Sandra's story

I'm Sandra Flores creator of Azukar Coffee with the support of my partner in crime, Norberto Flores my husband. I have been a public servant for over 10 years, working in Social Work. I have always felt my role in the community is bigger than myself. I was born and raised in Phoenix, with the pleasure of having Mexican immigrant parents showing me extremely hard work ethics. Getting myself though college I spent tremendous amounts of time in coffee shops. It was nice but I wanted flavors that made it feel like home for me.  So I began making beverages based around Mexican traditions and flavors. We have been operating for over a year now at festivals and events. I combined all of the things I care about and began to develop my business around that after struggling in my career.
I learned that I have to have footing and independence if I want to change/improve the world around me. I NEED to create this business so I can empower myself to help the community where I was raised. Without this business I am working on someones else's vision and I believe my vision and mission could be very impactful for South Phoenix.

Our funds where limited to begin with and have depleted fast with our build out.  I thank you for your part in my journey!
