Mellisah's story

Mellisah is a 28-year-old mother of two school-going children. She operates a salon and a cosmetics shop as well as charcoal sales and the sale of ready food. She has been running these businesses for the past four years.

Mellisah has requested a loan of Ksh 60,000 to enable her to enlarge her business premises and add to her stock of cosmetics. Since joining Faulu Kenya Limited, she has bought four rooms in the slums and managed to educate her brother through the profits raised from her businesses. She desires to educate her children and build her family a home away from the slum. She describes herself as loving, diligent and jovial.
