Tulemane Group's story

Clara C., age 38, is married with four children, ages 19, 16,12 and 8 years. She has a general store. She has had this shop for about four years now. She works from 7am to 8pm daily and is able to earn a monthly profit of about $427.

This will be Clara’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to increase the stock in her store and paid school fees for her firstborn. She has paid the loan back successfully. She now hopes for a new loan to further increase her inventory.

Clara will share this loan with the group Tulemane. The group has 22 members. These members hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Clara is first on the left in the front row, wearing a blue dress.
