A loan of $1,000 helped to buy three small pigs and six medium-sized ones to raise and later butcher.

Lilian Marilú's story

Lilian is 32 years old. She attended school up to the ninth grade of basic education. Her husband works in agriculture, and she has one child.

Lilian dedicates herself to buying pigs to butcher and sell the meat. She has done this work for three years together with her husband. She decided to dedicate herself to this business to contribute to the household expenses.

Thanks to her previous loan from Kiva, she was able to invest in her business, and she has already finished paying off the debt. She needs a new loan to buy three small pigs and six medium-sized ones to raise and later to butcher.

Lilian dreams of becoming a large-scale merchant for pork and fulfilling customer demand. She would also like to buy a vehicle so she can go out and sell.
