A loan of $3,975 helped a member to buy Yakult [a macrobiotic milk drink], Danone [yogurt products] and to pay suppliers.

Mulheres Valentes Group's story

The group called Somos Mulheres Valentes [We are Brave Women] has been a client of the Banco do Povo Crédito Solidário (BPCS) for four years and is renewing its loan. The members live and work in the Diadema region of Sao Paulo. They are happy with the support they received from the investors and hope that they can count on this support again.

Vanuza sells Yakult and she will use the loan to pay for goods for resale. She sells door-to-door. Joseane Souza sells Bolos [cakes] and needs a loan to buy supplies to make her confections for sale. Maria de Lima sells marmitex [take-out meals] and will use the loan to buy supplies to make lunches for sale. Julhecir is a hairdresser and needs the loan to buy moisturizers and dyes for her clients' beauty treatments.

Maria do Carmo is the group's leader. She is married and has a child. She sells dairy products and needs the loan to buy Yakult, Danone products, and to pay her suppliers. The extra income from the loan will allow her to buy more products.

The group thanks the investors and is very pleased with the support it is receiving.

In this group: Joseane Souza, Maria De Lima, Maria Do Carmo, Vanuza, Julhecir
