A loan helped to buy potato seeds, fertilizers, insecticides and to pay the cost of labor.

Landy's story

Landy is a wife and mother. She is 40 years old, has been married for many years, and has four children ranging from ten to 20 years of age. The family lives in the countryside. Landy is a farmer. She owns several pieces of land inherited from her parents. She rotates her crops depending on the season, but she is mostly experienced with growing potatoes. She has been doing this line of work for some 20 years.

Landy sells her produce at the big market of a nearby town. Thanks to her revenues she is able to provide for family needs. All of her children are still her dependents, and help working the land. Landy is a good partner of Vahatra. Since starting her collaboration with Vahatra, she has been able to expand the size of her arable land.

Landy needs more loans to grow her produce. This third loan will allow her to buy seeds, fertilizer and insecticides. She will also pay for labor of some people who will help her with her work. The family’s revenue has improved, and Landy keeps working for the well-being of her family and continues to be enthusiastic about investing in her business.
