The first person on the left in the picture is Amar, age 48, a mother of three daughters. Her two elder daughters are already working, whereas the youngest one is still a student. Their family's income mostly comes from farming. Amar's daily routine includes running the farm, cooking for her family, and taking care of their home. In addition to farming, one of her daughters supports the family by working in an office at a company in the city.

Amar will use this Kiva loan for farming to cover the periods in which she does not receive funds from her daughter. She is buying compost and six bags of fertilizer to increase her harvest.
