Seang T., age 53, is married and lives with her husband (pictured) in Phnom Penh City. Her husband is employed as a construction worker earning about US $7 per day which is the primary source of income for the family.

The financial crisis has been difficult for business in Cambodia this past year. This factor has made it a difficult economic year for much of the country, T. included. The country's economic struggles always seem to affect the poor the most. In light of the country's economic difficulties, T. is seeking to increase her income. She is asking for a loan of US $600 in order to purchase a motorbike for her husband to be able to commute to work not only in the town but also to other places in the province. By doing so, she believes that she will be able to increase the standard of living for her family.
