Saodat's story

Saodat was born in and lives in the city of Khujand. She is 48 years old. She sews, and makes a living doing this. Saodat is a widow. Her husband died a few years ago. Saodat has three children, who are already grown up. In 2006, Saodat began making patterns and sewing, in her mother's house. For more than 14 years, she has been running her own sewing business. Saodat takes orders at her home for sewing Tajik-style women's clothing. Now she needs to buy a computerized sewing machine, in order to expand her business. Saodat is requesting a loan for this purpose.
