A loan helped a member to purchase sheep to resell later with the aim of guaranteeing her children a better future.

Binkadi Group's story

Bintou is the lady holding the sheep in the photo. She is 30, literate, married to a farmer, and the mother of four boys, aged 7 to 14, of whom two are in school. For six years, she has been raising sheep to help her husband to cover certain expenses of her children. She does her trading at the local markets and bordering countries. And she earns 50,000 francs CFA in profit from her sales.

Currently, she is seeking her fifth loan to pay for at least four sheep and some fodder (feed cakes, millet bran, and salt) to fatten them well and increase her revenues. This will help to cover the costs of clothing and schooling for her children.

Bintou’s hopes and dreams include traveling further to earn more money one day, so as to purchase cattle for her children, guarantee them a better future, and help the ones in school with their studies.
