A loan helped to buy ingredients as flour, oil, chickpeas, vegetables, etc., for her son's food-stall business.

Kaneez's story

Kaneez is a 62-year-old mother of one daughter and four sons. She lives with her family in Multan. Her son owns a food stall in which he carries different food items to sell at various locations. Kaneez prepares food for her son to offer for sale to his customers. They have been engaged in this business for nine years, cooking and selling dishes like paratha, rice, curry and chicken, and chickpeas. In the picture, she is with her son and preparing food for the stall.

Kaneez applied for a Kiva loan from BRAC Pakistan in order to buy ingredients such as rice, chicken, flour, vegetables, and oil for her son’s food business. This is Kaneez’s 10th loan with BRAC Pakistan, and she is hopeful that it will help build the business and raise her family's standard of living. Her husband has a small grocery shop.

Kaneez is grateful to Kiva lenders and BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
