Nineteen people living in Boeng Satong village in Takeo province comprise this village bank loan, and they will use the loan for various purpose. Mrs. Yi S. is a 23- year-old village bank president. She is a grocer who owns a grocery store. Since her business is doing well, she has a lot of consumers who need many demands. Thus, she decided to request a loan to buy more grocery products to add her business to earn more profits. Her husband, Mr. Eng Chan Veasna, is a farmer who owns 1.5-hectar field of land to cultivate rice. This couple has three children, one of whom is attending the local school while the others are too young to work or study.

Twelve members in this group loans are end-of-term loans and the rest have monthly payment loans. They are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
