A loan helped to build a decent latrine and renovate her house.

Khet's story

Khet is a 61-year-old farmer who is living in the Bakan District, Pursat Province. She is a mother of five children. Four of the five are married, while the other one is living under her financial support. Her husband also helps her in this career. Both of them have helped each other in this career for over 20 years now, with a net income of about USD $15 per day.

Khet is requesting a Kiva loan via HKL to build a decent latrine and renovate her house. This is the first loan cycle for her with Kiva, but the fourth loan cycle with HKL. This loan will provide her family members good health, help to protect the environment and save more time to find a place to go to the toilet.

In the future, she wants to buy a plot of farmland, build a new house because her house has broken, and provide for her children to graduate from university.

She would like to say thanks to all lenders for their financial support.

This loan is special because:

It helps prevent the spread of disease by providing access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
