A loan of $1,025 helped purchase sacks of fertilizer & heads of sheep.

Nolberta's story

Nolberta is 46 years old. She lives with her husband and 2 children in their own home. For the past six years, she has been engaged in arduous work cultivating potatoes that are native to this area. Once the crops are planted, she must wait six months before she can sell her harvest in the major markets that supply the surrounding cities. At the same time, Nolberta breeds animals for sale and for personal consumption. All of her family members perform work around their farm, which reduces their costs of hiring laborers for planting and harvesting. Even though she has experienced difficult times, Nolberta’s perseverance has helped to improve the quality of her crops, the productivity from her land, and the size of her cattle herds.

This is the third time Nolberta has requested a loan from MFP. She pledges to continue working responsibly, as well as being honest and supportive of her fellow Communal Bank members. The money she requested will be used to buy sacks of fertilizer and heads of sheep.
