Afi Cathérine was born around 1982. She is married and the mother of two children. The family lives in Cocotomey, not far from Cotonou, the economic capital of the Republic of Benin. She sells sacks of corn at the Cocotomey marketplace. Parakou in northern Benin, and Adja in Mono County, are where she buys her goods. Cathérine has already had a loan from ALIDé that she has repaid. She is requesting an ALIDé loan again to boost her working capital and to increase her merchandise volume for the happiness of her customers.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
