A loan of $1,600 helped to purchase two cows that are being offered to her at a rather low price and which in addition would give her the opportunity to diversify her business.

Ana Otilia's story

Ana currently lives with her son, who is 35 years old, and her daughter-in-law. Ana has as a source of income making corn tamales to sell. It is a business which she has been doing for 30 years and she began it as an alternative to generate the income she needed to survive. Her primary customers are the neighbors of the place where she lives and people who travel abroad since they like to bring some traditional Salvadoran snack.

She needs the financial help to be able to purchase two cows that are being offered to her at a rather low price and which in addition would give her the opportunity to diversify her business and have a better inventory, since she believes that if everything turns out well with the investment, she will be able to sell the animals at a fair price but which will also generate better earnings for her.

Ana's aspirations are to continue working to improve her business and increase her head of cattle.
