A loan of $1,025 helped purchase molds for baking bricks & pay for labor.

Jovita Elena's story

Sra. Jovita Elena belongs to the Communal Bank “Honestidad y Trabajo” (Honesty and Work), which is located in the District of Juanjui, Mariscal Cáceres Province, Department of San Martín. She is 36 years old, married, and the mother of 2 dependent children.

Since she needed a way to contribute to the household income, Sra. Jovita Elena was encouraged by her husband and family to start a business selling bricks called "Ladrillera Gasparin". With startup capital of 2000 soles, she gradually started seeing good results because of the quality of the bricks, affordable prices, and excellent customer service. She continues to operate her business out of her home. Her main clients are neighbors, institutions, and her repeat customers.

Sra. Jovita Elena is now requesting a loan of 3000 to buy tin molds for baking the bricks. Part of the money will also be used to pay her staff’s monthly salary.

Today, she is very happy with the service she has received. She thanks Manuela Ramos for helping people like her who want to work and get ahead. Sra. Jovita Elena hopes the Institution will be around for a long time so that it can help many other families and women entrepreneurs.
