Josephine's story

Hard work spotlights the character of Josephine. She is a rural smallholder who was not lucky to be admitted in any higher learning institution to learn agriculture. However, through gathered experienced based on curiosity and her natural abilities she has come to emerge as one of the most respected farmers in her village of Bungoma.

Josephine gets her daily income through various farm activities such as supervising her farm, planting, spraying, harvesting and selling crops, handling all aspects of livestock production, recording all details (including financial) about the farm and planning the strategic direction of the farm. She is able to obtain maximum control in her farm.

Josephine also operates a cereal business in her village. This loan will be used to buy more cereals to sell to her customers. Increased profits will play a major role in saving for the education of her children.
