Abena's story

Abena is fifty-five years old. She is married and has given birth to nine children, all of whom are still in school. Abena works very hard to support her husband to be able to provide for the family. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in Dunkwa in the Central Region of Ghana.

Abena is a trader, trading in vegetables – tomatoes. She buys boxes of tomatoes from the nearby communities and sells on a table at the local market. She also supplies to food vendors and other retailers in her community. Abena has been in business for over thirty years and wants a loan to buy goods in bulk to expand her business.
